Teams and Services
Access Services Team
The primary mission of the Access Services Team is to provide access to the Z. Smith Reynolds library building and its collections, including off-site shelving, and to provide access to the library's resources. One of the major functions of the team is to circulate library materials to University and other eligible patrons. This includes checking out and checking in books and other library materials; maintaining the patron database and issuing borrowing cards; shelving materials; delivering materials to faculty members upon request; and assisting patrons with finding materials in the building. Access Services staff members also work with faculty members to place materials on reserve to supplement class materials. Document Delivery is responsible for borrowing and lending library resources. In addition, the Team is responsible for collection and building security.

Information Services, or TeamInfo, is comprised of members from the departments of Government Documents, Mircotext, Current Periodicals, and Reference. The Team endeavors to develop skills among students, faculty and staff leading to independence and lifelong learning within the university's stated purpose in the pursuit of liberal learning. Team members are variously involved in: library instruction, ThinkPad orientation, face-to-face tutorials in the use of library resources and equipment, development of web-based instruction, subject specific collection development and in routine maintenance of library collections and materials. Seventy per cent of TeamInfo members have the responsibility and credentials as well as the budgets to make informed selection of print and electronic materials. This assures that the University's research collections remain current and appropriately balanced. The Team interacts with all other teams to meet the Library's service goals.

The Information Technology Team's mission is to advance the Z. Smith Reynolds Library through technology support, education, and innovation, thereby upholding the library's position as the academic heart of the university community.
To this end, the Information Technology Team sets comprehensive goals and has established service and support procedures.

The Resource Services Team is committed to helping our students, faculty, and staff succeed. We do this by acquiring, organizing and providing access to a broad range of materials in all formats that are essential to the University's academic programs and that support the research needs of the faculty. The team is comprised of Collections Management, Acquisitions, Serials Management, Cataloging, and Resource Maintenance. With a passion for excellence and efficiency these units work collectively across departmental lines building a unique collection with multicultural materials that represent a variety of viewpoints.

Back to topSpecial Collections Team
The Special Collections Team at ZSR Library currently consists of two divisions: the Rare Books and Manuscripts Department, and the University Archives and NC Baptist Historical Collection. The purpose of Special Collections is to support the mission and curriculum of the University by creating, preserving, protecting, and making accessible collections of research materials. The rare-sometimes unique-materials and comprehensive subject holdings in special collections also make them of interest to users outside the Wake Forest community.
Members of the Special Collections Team provide reference services and bibliographic instruction for the collections. They select, organize, arrange, and catalog special collections material. They seek to maintain each item in good condition, providing repairs or other preservation measures when necessary. And the protocol for use of special collections materials ensures that rare and valuable items are housed with extra security.
