Scholarly Journals Presentation

This presentation will give students a chance to interact using clickers. Content includes information about our collection, scholarly vs. popular publications, and the ZSR Find a Journal page.

The Library Catalog Presentation

This presentation makes use of clickers throughout and introduces students to the catalog and call numbers. Once the presentation is complete, students would have time to begin their books assignment.

Steps in the Research Process Lecture

This lecture will walk you through an entire class on the Research Process.  This includes a class activity using cards to organize the steps in the research process and a lecture to discuss the content in more depth. The presentation concludes with a discussion of how to select a research topic. Remaining class time can be used to allow students to create a research topic.

Introductory Lecture

This presentation will walk you and your students through the course, syllabus, and first assignments. You will also be able to use this presentation to introduce the concept of “information literacy” to your students. This, combined with the tour, will fill the entire first class.
