The new year brings many changes to the ZSR collection of online resources. New databases, interface changes, and the renewal cycle of the statewide library consortium dominate this season’s database news.

New Database Purchases

ZSR recently subscribed to the Library of Latin Texts, Series A, which contains more than 3,200 Latin works from Antiquity through Vatican II. ZSR has also recently purchased more than 120 new reference e-books from the Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL). Find individual titles in the library catalog, as well as within GVRL, or you can cross-search across the entire GVRL collection.

The Professional Center Library has recently subscribed to Advertising Age online, which you can access via the ZSR journals page. The Advertising Age Data Center is listed separately on the database page.

Databases on the Move

The following databases have moved from the defunct Wilson Web search interface to the more familiar EBSCOhost interface. All have new URLs; please update your bookmarks.

Other database moves:

  • The NetLibrary interface has been retired, and all its content has moved to the EBSCOhost platform. The NetLibrary collection is now called eBooks on EBSCOhost.
  • Online audiobooks formerly on the MyiLibrary interface are now available on the OneClickdigital Audiobooks interface. Listening to them requires download and installation of the free OneClickdigital Media Manager software. (This beta software does not yet work on Mac computers.)
  • The CareerSearch database has a new URL.

NC LIVE

The following database changes are provided through a statewide library consortium, NC LIVE. All are included in the ZSR databases list.

Three databases have been upgraded to include more full-text content:
