National Library Week is here! Z. Smith Reynolds Library is joining libraries across the country in celebrating the ways libraries transform lives, strengthen communities, and support learning.

This year’s National Library Week theme is “Find Your Joy.” It invites all to reflect on what sparks joy in the library, whether that is discovering a new favorite study spot, getting help with research, connecting with library faculty and staff, or simply finding a moment of calm in a busy semester. Libraries are more than their collections and study spaces. They are places of curiosity, connection, access, and care.

At ZSR, this celebration is also a chance to recognize the many ways the library supports the Wake Forest University community every day. We specifically want to highlight the valuable role ZSR Library and our library professionals play in empowering individuals and uplifting our community.

Celebrate With ZSR This Week

Throughout the week, ZSR will highlight different ways to engage with the library and celebrate the people and services that make it such an important part of campus life.

Monday, April 20 | Right to Read Day

ZSR Library joins the national observance of Right to Read Day, a day to protect, defend, and celebrate the freedom to read. Our library recognizes the importance of equitable access to information and the essential role libraries play in supporting intellectual freedom, curiosity, and learning.

Tuesday, April 21 | National Library Workers Day

This Tuesday is the National Library Workers Day. We honor the library workers whose expertise, care, and dedication make our research, teaching, and learning environment possible. Library staff make a lasting impact every day by helping users navigate resources and spaces to support academic scholarship behind the scenes.

Wednesday, April 22 | National Library Outreach Day

Wednesday spotlights National Library Outreach Day, honors library professionals who provide services beyond the physical library walls. Outreach in ZSR Library includes services, resources, and support designed to connect with students, faculty, and researchers across campus and beyond.

Thursday, April 23 | Take Action for Libraries Day

On Thursday, we recognize Take Action for Libraries Day, a time to reflect on the impact libraries have on our academic and personal journeys. We invite members of the Wake Forest community to share how ZSR has supported their success, inspired their curiosity, or helped them find their joy.

Find Your Joy at ZSR

As the week continues, we will also celebrate our patrons and reflect on the moments, spaces, and services that make ZSR Library meaningful to our community. Whether your joy is found in quiet study, collaborative work, research support, collections, events, or simply having a welcoming place to land, we hope you will take a moment this week to celebrate the role libraries play in communities or in your life.

Be sure to follow ZSR on social media to keep up with all of this week’s National Library Week features, highlights, and celebrations.

Happy National Library Week from ZSR Library!
