On October 9, the Wake the Library 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will return for its third year. The Fun Run starts at 8 a.m. The 5K begins at 8:30. Both events will start and finish in front of the library. The race route will wind through Reynolda Village and the Wake Forest University campus. Both races are walker friendly and are on limited-traffic roads. Proceeds will support library programs. This year, for those who are not morning people, the library offers a “Sleep in for the Library” registration. “Sleep In” registrants receive this year’s race T-shirt, as well as a good feeling from helping the library meet its mission!
