Throughout the month of July (and late June) members of the RIS team worked with the LENS summer program, offering workshops on research instruction, presentation skills, and google tools. This year there were two LENS programs, one on the topic of Sustainability, and a new one called “Cultural Crossroads”. Over the course of the month, Sarah Jeong, Mary Scanlon, Meghan Webb and Hu Womack lead a total of eight sessions to assist these 60 high school students with their projects. As in years past, it was a pleasure to work with these high school students, the WFU students who served as program assistants, and the faculty and staff who lead the programs. This is an enriching program. The experiences the students get are unique and the support you give them is superior. It keeps you busy in the summer but what a worthwhile program!
