A vibrant and rich painting exhibit with the work of Rebecca Jones is now installed at the library entrance. Rebecca is a Charlotte native and a member of the Asolare Art Foundation. Her work reflects her interest in the relationship of man with nature. Rebecca’s work is inspired primarily by personal experiences. Her encaustic paintings use beeswax and dammar resin to achieve a layered and spontaneous appearance. Encaustic painting has a unique appearance and everyone should take time to see these art works.

I love the whimsy for the end of the summer exhibit. Nice choice!
The finished products are so fun, and her materials choices are really interesting! Not sure I’ve run into encaustic paintings before.
