On October 11th the ZSR Library, along with the Graduate School, hosted our second thesis boot camp for WFU graduate students. Both Reynolda campus and Wake Downtown graduate students were invited to attend. Almost double the number of graduate students (27) attended this year’s event! We hosted four workshops on Thursday and ended with some “Shut up and Work” time on Thursday afternoon. Dr. Ryan Shirey from the Writing Center and Dr. Michael Shuman from the Learning Assistance Center lead sessions, as did Molly Keener, the Director of the Digitial Initiatives and Scholarly Communication Team at ZSR. These sessions covered topics ranging from “Addressing Writer’s Block” and “Time Management” to “Publishing and Copyright.”
Like last year, we plan to follow up this successful Fall Break event with a Spring Break “Shut Up and Write” event in an effort to better support our graduate students in the thesis writing process! This was a wonderful team effort involving partners across campus, and the graduate students were excited to participate!
Photos of the event have been posted on the ZSR Library’s Flickr site.
