On Wednesday, August 17th, the ZSR Library hosted fast, fun tours of the ZSR Library for new students and their families as part of the move-in day activities! Tours started in the 24-hour room, where new students and families could grab a cup of gelato and then head out on a whirlwind tour of the ZSR Library led by intrepid librarians Joy Gambil, Kathy Sheilds, and Hu Womack. ZSR Ambassador President Parker Beverly graciously volunteered to staff the 24-hour room and give out gelato as librarians led tours! Between 3-5 pm, these three librarians led 12 tours to a total of 183 people! We’ve posted a few photos of our setup in the 24-hour room on Flickr!

That sounds like a busy afternoon! So glad to hear that there was such good turnout. And…is that Nutella gelato I see in one of the photos?
These were such a great addition to move-in day activities! As a tour trainee, I tagged along to at least one portion of three different tours. The format was perfect for these families that were already having a hectic day. Tours were truly fast (AND fun) and were the perfect ice-breaker for students to get their bearings and develop the comfort level to return.
Great job Hu, Kathy, Joy, and Parker!
Alayna, you have a sharp eye! Indeed that was both chocolate AND nutella gelato at the event!
What a great turnout and it was exactly what students needed! When I was at the Campus Services Day table, there were several parents and students who were excited about the opportunity to tour, and the short time commitment was also a welcome surprise. But the biggest plus was the opportunity for the free gelato! Well done.
