In April, the WFU Education Department and Education Library reached out to the ZSR Library, hoping to collaborate on a program for the Wednesday, May 3rd, “National Day of Action” sponsored by The African American Policy Forum (AAPF), an innovative think tank that connects academics, activists and policy-makers to promote efforts to dismantle structural inequality. We created a display of banned and challenged books and gave away pre-printed postcards to send to legislators. We also distributed some cool stickers and 94 cans of Starbucks espresso to help fuel students during finals! Thanks to Education professor Dr. Dani Parker Moore and Education Librarian Alicia Lemar for bringing this idea to ZSR and volunteering to help, and thanks to librarians Amanda Kaufman and Meghan Webb, who teamed up with Education to make this successful outreach event happen!
