In the Fall of 2022, Karen Horton from Campus Recreation reached out to Dean Pyatt asking ZSR to speak at the monthly program in Reynolds Gym for WFU Retirees, and when Dean Tim asked me about leading such a program, I jumped at the chance. (It was a wonderful opportunity to see some folks I’ve known for quite a while and don’t get to see often enough!) After leading a successful session last October, I realized that some of their questions could be better answered by IS than ZSR, so I reached out to John Noble from the Bridge, and we partnered up to lead a joint session this summer! (Shoutout to Greg Collins in the Bridge for making this collaboration possible!) On Tuesday, August 8th, we led the first of what we hope to be an annual session for over 30 retirees discussing the services and support the ZSR Library and the Bridge can offer WFU retirees! It was a wonderful opportunity to share ZSR’s institutional access research guide and talk about our new online access to the full run of the Winston Salem Journal and Twin City Sentinel! John gave wonderful advice on maintaining your WFU access in retirement and on the tech support offered by the Bridge! We hope this will turn into an annual event each summer!
