Thanks to support from the ZSR Library Board of Visitors and other donors, we awarded ten $2,500 scholarships to library student workers for the 2024-2025 academic year. To be eligible, students must have met the following criteria:

  • Full-time student
  • Strong academic performance
  • In good standing with the University
  • Be an hourly student worker for ZSR Library
  • Intend to work at ZSR the following academic year
  • Outstanding service to the Library and campus community

The student employees receiving scholarships for the 2024/25 academic year are:

Talia Austin: Talia is a Computer Science major from Orlando, FL, and works in Digital Initiatives and Scholarly Communication.

Shelby Balmer: Shelby is a Religious Studies Politics and International Affairs major from Edgewater, FL, and works in Special Collections & Archives.

Lorenzo Cabana: Lorenzo is an Economics major from Long Branch, NJ, and works in Public Services.

Lydia Derris: Lydia is a Biology and English major from Winston-Salem, NC, and works in Public Services.

Jenna Jordan: Jenna is a Communications major from Clemmons, NC, and works in Resource Services.

Julie Murphy: Julie is a Business and Enterprise Management major with a concentration in International Business from Garden City, NY, and works in Public Services.

Walker Newman: Walker is a Biology major from Beaufort, SC, and works in Public Services.

Hope Nitsche: Hope is a Biology and Classical Studies Major with a Neuroscience Minor from Winston-Salem, NC, and works in Public Services.

Rocio Saucedo: Rocio is from Warr Acres, OK, and has not declared a major yet. She works in Resource Services.

Celina Seo: Celina is a Business Enterprise Management and Marketing major from Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, and works in Public Services.

Our fundraising for this initiative continues and our goal is to increase the number of scholarships available for the next academic year.
