ZSR extends a warm welcome to all of our new and returning faculty! This academic year, we are excited to offer a new way to connect with you, through First Five: ZSR Early Career Faculty Workshop Series. These workshops are specifically designed to support early career faculty (defined as faculty of any rank who have been at WFU for five years or less).
Our goals with this workshop are to:
- Share ways that you can collaborate with the library and how we can help enhance your teaching and research.
- Provide a space for early career faculty from departments across campus to connect and share ideas.
We have two workshops coming up this fall that are focused on teaching:
- Librarian-Faculty Partnerships: Elevate Assignments with Digital Projects and Information Literacy; Wednesday, October 2, 2024, 12:15-1:30, ZSR 665
- Integrate Primary Sources & Archival Materials; Tuesday, October 29, 2024, 12:15-1:30, ZSR 624
In the spring, we are offering two workshops that are focused on research:
- Demonstrate Your Research Impact; Wednesday, February 26, 2025, 12:15-1:30, TBD
- What to Know When You’re Publishing; Tuesday, April 8, 2025, 12:15-1:30, TBD
Lunch will be provided at each session! The workshops are not sequential, so you can choose to attend any or all of them. Registration is requested for catering purposes.
For more information and to register, visit the First Five webpage! Please contact Kathy Shields (shielddk@wfu.edu) with any questions!

This is a wonderful initiative, Kathy; and aligns well with the Strategic Framework. I’ll share this with Faculty in my area!
