Impacts to Library Hours and Services

Winter weather conditions may require ZSR Library to adjust hours of operation or modify services. While the University’s operating status often guides these decisions, ZSR Library may implement additional adjustments based on building conditions, staffing availability, and the ability to safely provide services. In some cases, access to specific spaces, service points, or equipment may be limited.

Real Time Updates

ZSR Library will continue to provide access to study spaces as conditions allow; however, in-person services may be modified due to power, safety, or staffing considerations, while online services will remain available and align with adjusted hours of operation.

Current Plan for ZSR Operations

  • Friday (1/23): Regular hours of operation (7:30AM-7:00PM)
  • Saturday (1/24): We plan to remain open, but will continue to monitor weather conditions with the potential to close early.
  • Sunday (1/25): ZSR will be closed.

To ensure students continue to have access to study space amid the possibility of short-notice operational changes, we have prioritized the immediate relocation of additional furniture to the 24-hour spaces (scheduled to be updated).

Staying Informed

ZSR Library shares winter weather updates through multiple official channels to ensure our community has timely and accurate information. During periods of inclement weather we encourage students, faculty, staff, and patrons to check the following sources before coming to the library:

  • Wake Alert: The University’s official emergency notification system provides real-time updates regarding campus closures, delays, and safety conditions.
  • ZSR Library Website: Any changes to library hours, services, or access will be reflected on our website as soon as decisions are made.
  • ZSR Social Media: Updates and reminders will be shared through ZSR’s official social media accounts.

Because weather conditions can change quickly, updates may be issued throughout the day. We recommend checking these sources regularly and planning accordingly. The safety of our community remains our top priority. We appreciate your flexibility during weather-related disruptions.
