Research & Instruction Internship
Interns in Research & Instruction Services (RIS) work the reference desk during scheduled times and answer in-person, phone, email, chat, and text messaging queries for students, faculty, staff, and community patrons. RIS interns could possibly be involved with special projects in collection management or instruction if agreed upon by the intern and the Department. Although this volunteer internship does not carry a stipend or financial compensation, graduate students have found it helpful for obtaining experience for academic credit to enter into the profession of academic librarianship.
