    Wake Forest University faculty have research responsibilities beyond the classroom. This exhibit will provide an introduction to the wide range of WFU faculty expertise and experience in their areas of research. Different disciplines ranging from anthropology, chemistry, and history will be presented in the exhibit. thefocus will include primary sources and 3-dimensional objects, research notes as an effort to provide context and connection, and the final results--whether peer-reviewed publications, presentations, or other modes of access. Come see the Wake Forest impact on the world, all in Special Collections & Archives, Room 625, ZSR Library.

    In this talk, Dr. Aull will share information about the incoming 2018 cohort of students based on their writing self-placement materials. She will discuss what kinds of reading and writing incoming students are most familiar with, as well as their reported perceptions of academic writing. She will share examples of problematic issues and perceptions as well as some promising associations that can be used to help clarify reading and writing expectations with first-year students. PLEASE NOTE: Registration is required for this event.

    Zotero is a powerful open-source citations manager and research tool that integrates directly into the Firefox, Chrome or Safari web browser. Participants will learn how to install and start using Zotero to cite sources and create bibliographies in a matter of minutes. This workshop includes capturing citations from the ZSR Library catalog and databases, storing your collections online with a Zotero cloud account and outputting content in a variety of citation styles. Please bring your laptop to this hands-on session! A connection to the WFU Wi-Fi network is required for this class, and you will need Microsoft Word to use the "Cite while you Write" features of Zotero. Zotero Website ZSR Library's Guide to Zotero
