The Public Services team is currently busy working extended hours to accommodate our finals week schedule! Here’s a recap of what we were working on last month:

Consolidation of Available Shelving Space

The Public Services team has been working on consolidating available shelving space. We currently have 590 empty bays (“bay” refers to the metal frame in which shelves are installed) scattered throughout the Reynolds and Wilson wings. Consolidating shelving spaces will allow us to improve the organization of physical materials and identify space that could be repurposed to meet current as well as future space needs.

Leganto Implementation

The implementation of Leganto is reaching its final stage:

  • Leganto went live for instructors the week of April 23
  • Leganto went live for students on May 6

Members of the implementation team conducted multiple workshops on April 16, 17, and 18. Kyle coordinated Drop-in Virtual Hours on April 19, and also created a Leganto / Canvas Testing & Error Reporting form. Kathy coordinated outreach initiatives for faculty and James started drafting the content for the new Course Reserves webpage.

Big thanks to the Implementation Team for their dedication and hard work: James Harper, Kyle Denlinger, David Link, Jess Wilson-Saia, Kathy Shields, Thomas Dowling, Rodrigo Castro, Sabrina Mack, and Drew Ray.

LibAnswers Response Times

In mid-April we set a goal of improving our response time on LibAnswers tickets. We’re working towards answering all tickets received during open hours in less than one hour, and will be adding this stat to our Public Services Statistics. In April, we answered 76% of tickets within one hour, with an overall average response time of 61 minutes.
