ZSR Renovations: Summer 2025

We will provide updates on the progress throughout the summer.
Building Upgrades
While disruptive in the short term, these upgrades will enhance the overall library experience for the long term:
- Complete renovation of select restrooms in the Reynolds wing
- Renovation of the Writing Center
- Replacement of the Atrium roof
- Replacement of the Atrium floor
- Replacement of the Reynolds wing roof
Please note that the dates of renovation and completion are tentative and subject to change.
Limited Access
Access to the library will be limited to areas on Level 2, including Smith’s Cafe and the 24/7 study room. We encourage all visitors to review the alternate access points prior to arriving at the library:
- The east entrance, which leads to Smith’s Cafe, will be available.
- The west entrance, which leads to the 24/7 study room, will be available.
- The main entrance and back entrance, including the loading dock, will be unavailable.
- The main entrance will serve as the ADA entrance as needed.
During the renovations, there will be no access to public restrooms in the library, as water will be shut off. Restrooms in the Benson Center will be available.
Mediated Services
ZSR will offer mediated services from a temporary service point in Room 330, accessible through the west entrance of the building. Available services include:
- Retrieval of materials from the stacks
- Access to physical materials on Course Reserves
- Access to reservable Multimedia Equipment and Peripherals
Special Collections & Archives will be open by appointment only, on a case-by-case basis. Please contact archives@wfu.edu with requests and questions.
Fully Operational
- Study space in the 24/7 area
- Public workstation in the 24/7 area
- Printing services in the 24/7 area
- Loan pickup via the 24/7 lockers
- Book return via the west entrance
Additional Info
Library tours will be unavailable and shuttle access will be interrupted. For scheduled tours, please contact your coordinator for additional information. Due to construction, the shuttle stop at the ZSR Library will be inaccessible; please visit WFU Transportation for more information.
