Renovation FAQ
What renovations are happening at ZSR Library this summer?
We’re making significant improvements, including restroom renovations in the Reynolds Wing, a renovation of the Writing Center, and replacement of the Atrium ceiling, floor, and Reynolds Wing roof.
When do renovations begin and how long will they last?
Work begins May 20, 2025, with the Atrium closing on May 21. We expect to complete the renovations mid-August, though this is subject to change.
Will the library be open during the renovation period?
The building will remain partially open with limited access. The main Atrium and portions of the Reynolds Wing will be inaccessible, but services will continue via Room 330, accessible through the West Entrance.
What library services will be available?
We’ll offer mediated services, including:
- Retrieval of materials from the stacks (in person or by request)
- Access to Course Reserves
- Study space in the 24/7 area (remains fully operational)
- Use of public workstation and printing in the 24/7 area
- After-hours pickup via the 24/7 lockers
- Access to reservable technology and peripherals (e.g., chargers, calculators, markers)
Can I meet with library staff or building partners?
Yes, we will continue direct communication and support from staff and any building partners who choose to work on-site during this period.
Where should I enter the building during renovations?
Please use the West Entrance to access Room 330 and the 24/7 study area or the East Entrance through Smith’s Cafe. Other entrances may be closed or restricted.
What impact will renovations have on summer tour access?
For the duration of summer construction and renovations, tour access to ZSR Library will be unavailable. Please contact your tour director for additional guidance, or visit the library’s website for general library information.
Will the shuttle stop in front of the library still be available?
Due to construction, the shuttle stop in front of the library will be unavailable during summer renovations. Information regarding alternate shuttle points and routes can be found at WFU Transportation.
