As most of you probably know, North Carolina has been in the national news over House Bill 2, which weakens protections for the LGBTQ community. This change in NC law does not change our commitment to being an open and welcoming place for all members of our campus community. For more information, see Wake Forest University’s statement on recent N.C. legislation.
One of the ways ZSR Library has demonstrated our commitment to inclusiveness is by making single stall restrooms gender neutral. In reviewing our building, only two single stall restrooms are still designated by gender — as soon as the signs can be put into place, these restrooms will also be gender neutral.
In the coming months, we will be forming a ZSR committee on Diversity and Inclusion to help us keep these commitments in the forefront of our work. I greatly appreciate everyone’s effort as we work together to continue to make ZSR and Wake Forest an open and welcoming place for all.
