On Friday, March 29th, 2019, the ZSR Library served as the location for the WakeHacks 2019, a 24-hour “hackathon” that began at 7 pm and continued until 7 pm Saturday! More than 40 students attended this event, with 42 present for the opening ceremony. On Saturday there were sponsor and partner talks, and an escape room available throughout the day. At 5pm there was a coding event and judging, with the event wrapping up at 7 pm after a 6:30 pm closing ceremony. Kudos to student leaders, Nick Gerace, Collin Roemer, and Will Drake for leading this event. And special thanks to ZSR staff David Link, Tim Mitchell, Hu Womack, Barry Davis, Thomas Dowling and Chris Burris, who kept ZSR open 24 hours for this event! You can check out some photos from the event on the ZSR Flickr site!
