On Saturday, October 3rd, a crisp but clear morning, several ZSR Library employees participated in the Belview Park Cleanup. The Library has been conducting the cleanups at the neighborhood park for a number of years. Owing to the pandemic, we hadn’t been to the park since early March, just before the initial stay at home order.  On this particular day, several members of the library staff masked and gloved up, and with trash bags and social distance, were able to complete the cleanup in about an hour. All participants were happy to get out and enjoy some early morning sunshine, and each others’ company. Many of us hadn’t seen each other in person since March. This is likely a reason why the volunteer turnout was so big; it was among the highest since we began the cleanup effort.

The hearty participants included:

(Pictured: L-R) Lauren Corbett, Barry Davis, Alice Eng, Tim Mitchell, Mary Beth Lock, Molly Keener, and Jeff Eller (organizer)
(Not pictured) Mika Payden-Travers (and her husband and son), Rebecca May (and her husband and children), and Mary Beth’s husband Richard, who took the picture.
Thanks to all involved!
