Join us for a conversation with Annette Saunooke Clapsaddle, whose debut novel, set during WWII, tells the story of a 19-year-old from Cherokee, NC who hopes that a summer job at an Asheville hotel will be his escape to a wider world.

A featured author at the 16th annual Bookmarks Festival of Books & Authors, Annette is an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Her work has appeared in many publications, including LitHub and The Atlantic.
