The Z. Smith Reynolds Library unveiled new 24/7 study space that opened up for student use on 11/17/2021. The study room is accessed through the West entrance or by taking the stairs on the west side of the 24/7 Reading Room, (where the smart lockers are.) The room has 14 tables and are arranged for individual or two person study. But the best news of all is that the space is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
In ZSR, we recognize that as finals approach there is a greater need for study space on campus, and in the library in particular, so we’ve focused attention on maximizing that space wherever possible.
Also note the uncovering of the Wake Forest College crest in the middle of the floor.
We hope that the room is well utilized and better meets the needs of students as they enter into the final push of the semester.
Special thanks goes to JL Bolt, Doug Ecklund, Chris Wallace, Tulio Rubio, Maria Lozano, and their teams in Facilities and Campus Services for their extraordinary efforts in making this goal a reality and in record time!

What a wonderful addition to ZSR’s 24-hour study spaces!
So cool to have this area restored and available for students!
Since I’ve been a student (entering Wake in 1967) an alum and employee (1972 to 2015), and now a retiree (living on Faculty Drive since 1993), I have had a chance to see the space be in use continuously since ZSR was opened in 1956, with the exception of its first 11 years. I applaud my current and former colleagues at ZSR and the various WFU staff and faculty in other departments for their innovation in making such a space flexible and reusable.
The vintage WFU look is back and looking better than ever! Great space addition to ZSR. I saw J.L. Bolt on his knees polishing that floor-he’s a very good asset to Wake Forest. Thanks everyone!
