On Sunday, March 20th, ZSR Library joined the Office of Sustainability and other campus partners at Campus Gardens for the Spring Solstice Festival. The Festival was a fun and welcoming gathering of people, plants, and animals, and provided an opportunity for the campus community to welcome the budding life of spring and get a full-sensory experience of a garden in springtime. We were thrilled to partner with the Office of Sustainability to bring one of our Little Free Libraries (LFL) to the event to give away popular fiction and non-fiction that focused on nature and environmental issues. The LFL was popular with students and most of our titles were selected before the end of the event.
Special thanks to Bella Reiter, the Spring Equinox Festival Committee, and all of the Campus Garden Crew for partnering with us. We had a blast and look forward to future opportunities to host Little Free Library events around campus!

What a wonderful use of ZSR’s Little Free Library! (and a great way to raise awareness!)
Such a fun way to get out around campus – loved that the books were geared to topics like gardening and climate action!
Thanks for providing these titles to the volunteers of the Campus Garden! What a great event, and a nice way to partner with the Office of Sustainability!
What a fun event! Seeing students crowding around the books makes my heart so happy. And omg baby chicks!
