The ZSR Ambassadors are the library’s student advocacy group, supporting ZSR through programmatic assistance and candid feedback. Since the inception of this program in 2012, our Ambassadors have offered a student voice for outreach, service, and facility considerations. In recent years, our library Ambassadors have worked to develop and implement library programs, student feedback channels, and design proposals for library spaces.

Every spring semester, we hold Ambassador recruitment and welcome a new cohort of ZSR Ambassadors in the fall. Recently, we asked our 2025-2026 Ambassadors :

“What should new students know about ZSR?”

  • Nina Clayton

I think new students should know that, even though the library can seem big and scary, every staff member is super nice and genuinely wants to help you! Whether you need to find a book, learn how to find resources, or are looking for a study spot, they are always there to help out!– Nina Clayton

  • Makena Moore

Beyond all the resources and services that ZSR offers (which are awesome and you should definitely take advantage of), I think all new students should take the time to actually explore the library. I love the wide variety of study and collaboration spaces available, and the fact that there is an easily-accessible data platform to check out how busy a space is at any given time- this makes it easy to find what you’re looking for during busy periods.– Makena Moore

  • Katherine Claybrook

One thing that new students should know about the ZSR is the wide variety of resources you can utilize, both in-person and online! I really love the access ZSR gives to publications like the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal!– Katherine Claybrook

  • Anne Jones

Something all new students should know about ZSR is that if you look up a book on the library website you can scan a QR code that shows you a map of the book location on your phone.– Anne Jones

  • Neriah Olivier

One thing I think everyone should know about ZSR is that you can schedule a meeting with a research librarian in your discipline, and they are absolute magicians when it comes to helping you find books, databases, search terms, or anything else you might need for a project!– Neriah Olivier

  • Lexine Appiah

One thing new students should know about the ZSR is to take advantage of studying in the Atrium on the 6th floor. It offers great quiet spots for studying, especially when you have a lot of homework to get done.– Lexine Appiah

  • Alli Swyt

One thing I wish new students to know about ZSR is that it carries many books in a variety of different languages. So, if you want extra practice for your next language exam, or to keep up with a language that you don’t want to forget, it’s easy to find a book in that language at ZSR.– Alli Swyt
