Personal Research Sessions (AKA “PRSs”) have been a staple of ZSR for decades! And during the RIO team’s summer retreat in 2025, Roz Tedford suggested that we repurpose two of our old roll-up banner stands (one floor banner from the 2022 ACC Festival and one desktop banner from COVID days) with new content on personal research sessions and two QR codes to help students find a librarian and book a session!

Danielle Key and I volunteered to work together on this project, with Danielle on the design and me on the logistics. But that’s not the complete story! This was a team effort that involved so many ZSR folks! Once we finalized the design, we worked with Kevin Gilbertson to ensure the QR codes mapped to URLs we knew would be around for a while and could also gather data to tell us whether these banners led to bookings! We also worked with Daisha Bunn to ensure the design aligned with ZSR’s marketing kit, and with Veronica Escamilla-Brady to ensure funding for the project (and to catch a copyright issue with our first design!) Lastly, we ran the final design by the entire RIO team just to get feedback and see if there was anything else we needed to add!

Involving all these folks across ZSR ensured the project’s success, with improvements made throughout as a result of these collaborations! We now have a new banner for Wilson 4 and a new desktop travel banner that can go anywhere!

As the saying goes, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” At ZSR, we are grateful for collaborations that have us going far together!
