The summer has begun and with the warmer weather comes a series of art exhibitions from Asolare Art Foundation. Asolare has been helping developing artists since 1997 and has held exhibits of their work from ZSR Library to Lincoln Center. The first exhibition is composed of six paintings by painter and portrait artist Gilbert Everard Young. Young has studied at the NC School of the Arts and with artist Jim Moon in Asolo, Italy. Young’s philosophy of painting can be summed up in his words: “art is not a part of life, it is life total.” Young uses a variety of materials in his work and tries to paint spontaneously. He is strongly influenced by jazz and uses jazz imagery in his work. Recently, Young completed an 80-foot mural at Carter G. Woodson School in Winston-Salem.

I love the vibrant colors in the foyer. It grabs your attention as soon as you walk in, (or out.) Thanks for working with these folks again to make it happen!
Beautiful!
