Wednesday, February 26, 2020, 4-5 pm, ZSR Library Special Collections & Archives Classroom (ZSR624)

Join us for a talk with Learmond “Buddy” Hayes as he describes his genealogical research which led to his recent membership as the first African American member of the local chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (NSSAR). He will discuss how he traced his ancestry to John Blanks, a “free man of color” in the Revolutionary War and other connections he has made in his ongoing research. Refreshments will be served.
