Continued Leganto Implementation
We continue working to implement Leganto, a course reserves management system. The implementation team has recruited Kathy Shields, Hu Womack, Daisha Bunn, and Meghan Webb to help communicate with faculty about this important change. We expect the new system to be live before the Summer 2024 term starts.
Collection Location Update
We’ve made significant progress in the optimization of our library stacks spaces. Our student employees recently completed the reorganization of the ‘Q’ section on Reynolds 2, which shifted the entirety of these science resources to the west side of Reynolds 2. We’ll next focus our shifting efforts on the materials on Wilson 1.
Spotlight on the Wellness Collection
- Will Ritter will be sharing insights into our innovative Wellness Collection at the upcoming LAUNC-CH day. His lightning talk will highlight the collection’s significance, resources, and the positive impact it aims to have on our community’s well-being.
- We’ve recently added a curated selection of Wellness resources to compliment the physical items we have available for checkout, organized to align with Thrive’s eight dimensions of wellness. Thank you to Lauren Corbett and Kevin Gilbertson for continuously helping Jemma Johnson and me with setting up this collection in Alma.
- We’ve also been hard at work continuing to promote the Wellness Collection via new digital signage, Take Care Tuesdays, and social media.
Engaging our Community
In addition to promoting wellness, our team has taken on a larger role in the day-to-day management of the comment board—a physical platform where students express their thoughts, questions, and ideas. We aim to increase student engagement by documenting all comments and responding to inquiries daily. We believe that this proactive approach will allow us to better assess our services and offerings and to explore new opportunities for services and programs.
Updates from Offsite
Meanwhile, Ty Wilson has been busy over at our offsite storage facility. After the completion of the ROTC library accession, he caught up on regular ZSR collection accessions. He accessioned nearly 2700 items from ZSR to the Offsite general collection in February. He also resumed shelf-reading this month, auditing 2072 items in 178 containers.
