This post is to announce a Writing Scholarship Prize for Wake Forest University undergraduates who are interested in writing. Funded by a private donor, the ZSR Library and Special Collections & Archives will oversee this competition.
Edwin Hallman, Jr. Writing Scholarship Prize: Curating the World I Want To Live In
Scholarship Prize Amount: $1000
- Writers may submit creative fiction (including drama, personal essays, poetry) of up to 5000 words. Calls for submission will be Friday, Sept. 5 through Friday, Sept. 26 and should be submitted to archives@wfu.edu
- The topic is open. The ZSR Library will appoint a 3-faculty judging panel, who will review the submissions (which will be anonymous). The winner will be notified by mid-November.
- This scholarship prize is open only to Wake Forest undergraduate students. Funds can only be used for tuition and/or book purchases.
- Previously unpublished submissions only. Published means the work has appeared for public consumption in any form, including on blogs and social media.
- Multiple submissions are accepted, maximum of three, all to be submitted to archives@wfu.edu
- The winning work will be published and shared with the wider campus and Winston-Salem communities.
