Senior Planner for Historic Preservation, Michelle Michael, will discuss the historic preservation program in Wake Forest, NC, the challenges, and opportunities around preserving the historic college town, telling the whole history of the Town, and planning for the future in Wake County, one of the fastest growing areas in the country.

Michelle Michael grew up in Fayetteville, NC and completed undergraduate studies in Art from Meredith College. She received her Master’s in Historic Preservation from the University of Georgia and has enjoyed a long career in the historic preservation field including as staff for a statewide non-profit, private consultant, architectural historian for the Department of Army and Department of Navy, and as the Senior Historic Preservation Planner for the Town of Wake Forest since 2014.
