Social Media Policy
The goals of the Z. Smith Reynolds Library’s use of social media are to connect and engage with our audience. It is with this in mind that we use social media to participate in conversations and relationships in the library, on the WFU campus, and in the community. ZSR Library uses social media:
- to promote library sponsored events and interests, and most importantly have fun and share how much fun we have at Z. Smith Reynolds Library.
- to connect with students, faculty, staff, community, alumni, parents, potential students, and friends of the library. It is in the interest of sharing information as well as making connections with all interested parties that ZSR engages in a variety of social media platforms.
- to share information related to the mission of the library. Content of our social media output can include library and campus events, services offered by ZSR Library, WFU news, announcements regarding ZSR staff and facilities, collaboration news, and highlights from our collections.
ZSR will not use social media for commercial promotions, to distribute personal or restricted information, negative or inflammatory language, plagiarized materials, or otherwise inappropriate content. We reserve the right to delete off-topic, profane, threatening, or abusive comments and to ban users from posting to our profile and posts.
Our social media policy is grounded in the following policy documents: the mission statement of the Z. Smith Reynolds Library, the Social Media Guidelines for Wake Forest University, the WFU Honor Code and Conduct System for Undergraduate Students, and the Code of Ethics of the American Library Association.
