Calvin Jones was an agriculturalist and enslaver, military leader, speculator, newspaper editor, politician, and physician who owned land called "the Forest of Wake," later becoming Wake Forest College. This collection contains correspondence, a copy of by , a family history with accompanying compact disks and transcript by James Miller Jones, and reproductions of a memo book and farming journal.

Collection consists of documentation for Merritt's research project on what became the President's house, Wake Forest University, built by Ralph P. Hanes in 1929. Includes a telephone interview with Mr. Hanes' daughter, Mrs. Anna Hanes Chatham, two items of correspondence, the script, and 35mm. color slides (taken by Robert E. Merritt). The project was done for a seminar on country houses conducted by Dr. Margaret S. Smith, Art Department, Wake Forest University.

The Cain, Frost, and Naylor families are all present in this collection, especially James Harrison Cain and Elizabeth Amy Frost Cain; Richmond Frank (R. F.) Cain; and John Boyce Cain and Ina Lunn Naylor Cain. This collection documents some family history of the Cains of Davie County, N.C., and their businesses and professional lives as tobacco farmers, postmasters, and general store owners, among other roles. Materials include advertisements, business correspondence, debt notes, family correspondence, ledgers, log books, mail delivery log books, money order log books, patent applications and related materials, store receipts, and tax receipts. The collection is arranged in chronological order. Some items also relate to the Civil War and the Confederacy, on behalf of which James Harrison Cain and R. F. Cain served.

In 1837, the Baptist Church of Christ at Bethlehem was founded at Marshall's Meeting House in New Hanover County, North Carolina. In 1872, the congregation purchased a plot of land for the construction of a new meeting place to be called Canetuck Chapel. The collection includes photographs of the church building and covenant, as well as accounts that chronicle the history of the church from 1837 to 2017.

Casa Artom, located on the Grand Canal in Venice, is owned by Wake Forest University and used to house students and faculty studying in Venice. The collection consists of 14 bound scrapbooks (originals and facsimiles) in which students and other visitors have written their thoughts and reminiscences about their time at Casa Artom. Also included is a small bound volume detailing gifts to the house.

The Cashie Baptist Church was constituted in 1771 by Elder Jeremiah Dargan, who was elected as the first pastor. Cashie joined the Kehukee Association in 1778 and the association met at Cashie Meeting House in 1798. This collection contains church deeds, meeting minutes, biographical sketches, financial records, notes and letters related to members, and a membership roll.
