Richard Kerr Redwine was graduated from Wake Forest College in 1916 and received his Th.M from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1922. He served as a Baptist pastor in North Carolina and as a trustee of Wake Forest College. His wife, Beatrice Bernard Redwine, served as field director for the Woman's Missionary Union in various Southern states. This collection consists of the family and professional papers of Richard K. Redwine as well as the professional papers of his wife, Beatrice Bernard Redwine. A small number of materials related to graduate schools are also included.

This collection consists of biographical materials; correspondence with professor and liberal Baptist Stewart A. Newman and others; writings by Groves and others; materials concerning race relations in Winston-Salem; and general subject files regarding the Southern Baptist Convention, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, the Alliance of Baptists, and other topics.

Richard Mauze Burr (1955- ) was a Republican U.S. Representative (1995-2005) and Senator (2005-2023) from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He attended Wake Forest University from 1970-1974. His legislative interests were health policy, defense and biodefense, and intelligence, and some of his key accomplishments were the FDA Modernization Act of 1997, the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act, the Great American Outdoors Act, and serving as Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. This collection primarily documents Burr's years of Congressional service, with a small amount of personal files and campaign files. File types include legislative files, office notes, memos, press clippings, subject files, photographs, and memorabilia.
