October is Queer History Month! October is also American Archives Month! Special Collections & Archives would like to draw your attention to all of the programming that the LGBTQ+ Center is hosting for Queer History Month in addition to their year round work. Special Collections & Archives works to preserve the archives and source materials documenting the LGBTQ+ community at Wake Forest. We have developed a “LGBTQ at Wake Forest” subject guide to assist our researchers in accessing primary sources on this topic. Past student Justice Van Maur conducted in-depth research in the archives to write: An Oral History of Gay and Lesbian Activism at Wake Forest University 1985 to 2000.

On February 25-26, 2022, the WFU LGBTQ Center will be celebrating its 10th anniversary. We look forward to working with them to collect and create additional materials for SCA!
