Not the ZSR You Remember Tours & SCA Open House
ZSR Library welcomed alumni, family and friends for a tour of the newest places and spaces within the library. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of LIB 100 (our credit-bearing information literacy course), ZSR librarians served 200 Dewey’s cake squares. Special Collections & Archives (SCA) hosted over fifty visitors in the Research Room to look at our space and exhibits, look through yearbooks, and of course, grab some buttons, magnets, and stickers. Photographs from these events can be found on our Flickr page.
Festival on the Quad
Special Collections & Archives had another great time with about a thousand of our closest Deac friends at the Festival on the Quad. This is such a fun event that we look forward to every year. We were joined by a number of other campus entities, including the Wake Forest Historical Museum, and the LAM Museum, to celebrate WFU Homecoming in style. Alumni, families, and children swarm the quad for fun, bounce houses, face painting, photo ops, and so much more. Pictures of the event can be found here.
Special Collections and Archives spoke to almost four hundred people while we showed off our collections- especially our yearbooks! Our buttons, magnets, and stickers were a hit with everyone who stopped to chat with us.
AWFUBA
Chris Burris represented the SCA Expanded Wake Voices Oral History Project to the Association of WFU Black Alumni. He shared information about the interviews we are collecting with 30 attendees at their business meeting and we had several new signups.
Women’s Society Brunch with Donna Boswell
Former Board of Trustees member and SCA donor Donna Boswell hosted a Strings brunch on the Saturday morning of Homecoming. SCA shared a Strings popup exhibit, original artifacts, and information about the Expanded Wake Voices Oral History Project. Over 100 attended and SCA received new historical artifacts for the collection.

What a wonderful Homecoming! We need cake more often! There is always something to celebrate!
A busy and fun Homecoming here at ZSR!
We also hosted a well attended talk in the ZSR Auditorium by Class of 1978 author Mary Llewellyn McNeil and Class of 1982 Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Maria Henson! A very rewarding and engaging day!
