It’s my dirty little secret. I’m scared of the exhibit halls. They’re big, crowded, loud, and I’m not ever sure exactly what I’m supposed to do. I normally just make time to do a quick run through, see what’s going on (so that when people are talking about Google, I know what they’re doing), and get out. Today was about par for the course, but I did see this stellar view:
Maybe I’ll try again tomorrow. 😉

I’m with you Lauren! It’s much easier when ZSR staff gives me a vendor assignment and I go in there with a mission. Like Erik tasking me to check out Syndetics ( a vendor that provides metadata and cover art). Last night I ended up strolling around looking for food stations where ravenous librarians hadn’t already scarfed up all the food!
Don’t worry about it, Lauren. I’m *married* to a vendor and I still don’t like going to the exhibits except to see him. I went to the opening reception and rather than wander around aimlessly until Bill was finished, I went to the WebFeat booth because they have a big deal cooking with NCLive that will affect us. They said that they were introducing a clustering feature at a press conference Saturday, and that answered one of Erik’s concerns about their product, so I felt that my time was worthwhile. I also visited the Choice booth and picked up the January catalog because Cambria Press bought a first page ad highlighting my book (among others)! Yay!
It’s good to know I’m not alone! Thank you! 😉
