Jenny Robinson Puckett graduated from Wake Forest University in 1971. After completing the Master of Arts degree at Middlebury College, she taught Spanish for many years at the high school and college levels.  She was a lecturer in Spanish at Wake Forest from 1995 – 2013, during which time she developed a passionate interest in the history of our alma mater.  From 2005-2013, she worked with the student-led Traditions Council, which undertakes projects to educate the student body on Wake Forest lore, history, and traditions. In 2016, Jenny received Wake Forest University’s highest honor, the Medallion of Merit, for service to the university.

Jenny will share about her experiences (seven years in the making!) in authoring Thine Ancient Days: A WFU History, 1818-1956, a pictorial history of Wake Forest Institute and College during the 122 years that the school was located in Wake County, NC. The writing of this book was originally inspired by the curiosity of twenty-first century Wake Forest students, who wished to know how their university got started, how it arrived here from there….and what it must have looked like in the past. The text is arranged in story form, accompanied by beautiful historic images and artifacts.
