William Tell Brooks (1809-1883) was a native of Chatham County, North Carolina, and an alumnus of Wake Forest College (1839). This collection contains biographical and genealogical materials, sermons, notebooks, and his student diaries.

William Van Buren Moore, a native of Halifax County, Virginia, attended Wake Forest College, 1859-61. He served in the 20th Virginia Inf. and with Penick's Battery during the Civil War. He was later a planter in South Boston, Virginia.

Willis Richard Cullom was a clergyman, professor of the Bible, and Dean at Wake Forest College. This collection documents the life and professional work of Cullom. Materials include correspondence, professional and family, news clippings, booklets on a variety of topics, notes on scholarly, theological, and other topics, family scrapbooks, family photographs, sermons, and speech scripts. The collection also contains two boxes of glass slides identified as being of "Jerusalem and the Holy Land," possibly used in Cullom's classes; they appear to have been mass produced rather than from personal travels.

Reverend Willoughby Hudgins was born March 8, 1799, in Orange County, N.C. He resided in North Carolina until 1852 when he moved to Walton County, Georgia, where he later died on September 18, 1862. Materials in this collection include photocopies of various documents from Hudgins' life including some of his correspondence between family members. A small number of other items are also available such as a pension card and short biographies of his life.

It also documents the lives of North Carolina missionaries supported by the Woman's Missionary Union during their assignments worldwide.
