The workshop, entitled Biblio Tech, is geared toward making historical and... more ›
Friday, June 24th, was the annual alumni admissions forum! We saw alumni bringing potential students to tour all parts of campus! While a tour of ZSR might not seem blog-worthy, today’s tour turned into an impromptu party in the 24-hour room (for about 15 minutes!) Joy Gambill led a wonderful tour for a dozen individuals... more ›
After two years of online conferences, Atla 2022 was held as a hybrid conference June 15-18. (Almost) all sessions were live-streamed to remote attendees in addition to those who were in-person in Baltimore, with multiple sessions lead by presenters or co-presenters who were also remote. Overall, this seemed to work well, with a concerted effort... more ›

Gotta say, I loved the virtual conference format, especially for the asynchronous presentations. By spreading out my viewing over three weeks, I could watch almost all the presentations instead of having to choose from concurrent sessions. I watched most of them at 1.4 speed and bailed on any presentation I deemed irrelevant. Some themes: Are... more ›
An eleventh-hour appearance by the Omicron variant scotched plans for a hybrid conference of the Music Library Association this year, and obliged us to revert to all-virtual mode. No shortage of informative sessions, though. In a panel session, we learned of various initiatives to diversify music collections. Some libraries have relied on lists that many... more ›
The morning of Thursday, March 10 found me driving through the mountains of southwestern Virginia en route to Virginia Tech for the first of three meetings of the 2022 ACC Academic Leaders Network (ALN) leadership development program. Converging in Blacksburg were 70 leaders representing all 15 ACC schools, gathered to spend 2.5 days together learning... more ›
The greatest value in attending this online conference for me was feeling connected again to what is going on “out there” in libraryland, particularly in working on e-resources. Even though it was mostly at a detailed and practical level, there were some sessions that helped me see a broader picture. The Content A lot of... more ›
